biography
WANDA MORETTI
Choreographer
Choreographer and dance educator, Wanda Moretti has developed her artistic
work and research on the body and movement in relation to works of art,
installations and urban and natural architecture. She is the author of
Proteo – Danzarchitettura, a vertical dance project begun in 1999
and based on the study of space in its anthropological, social, cultural,
and architectural forms. It was developed into an event-performance where
space, sound, and movement are the constituent parts of a single production.
Proteo has been performed for multiple festivals and numerous national
and international shows.
Along with her activities as choreographer, Wanda Moretti conducts personal research on the educational potential of dance in scholastic and extra-curricular environments. She has participated in the First Specialization Course for Dance Educators directed by Mousikè in collaboration with Aterballetto and the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture at DAMS (University in the Disciplines of Art, Music and Theatre) in Bologna.
In 2002 she won the 3rd Competition of Museum Didactics of the Veneto Regional Council with the project “Visual arts through body and movement”.
She is the founding partner of DES – The National Association of Dance Education School.
She teaches and conducts educational and training courses, as well as choreography for dance companies, schools, museums and institutions.
